Starting Your New Year's Business
If your new year's resolutions includes sticking it to da man and breaking out on your own, here's how to start:

Seattle Business Monthly's Insightful Breakfast Series, January 13th, $50 includes ticket for entire series.  The topic will be Sustainable Buildings at the Columbia Tower Club with sponsors Vulcan Real Estate and Weber Thompson.  Even in a down economy, sustainability remains hot, so this is good place to do networking.

Choosing to Build the Company of Your Dreams, Jan 9th, $40.  If your New Year's Resolution includes starting your own business, then create your business by design instead of happenstance.  Three CEOs discuss the choices and trade-offs they made in constructing their own successful companies.

Economy Proof your Business, Jan 8th & 14th, $35.  Instead of creating a bloated master plan that never takes off, create a dynamic one-page plan used every day to guide your efforts.  Learn how to ask the right questions, and then translate into an actionable plan.
